F-35 Orders Cancelled: A Starfighter Ordered?

In a breaking news article that broke on May 4 2022, the Canadian government has abruptly cancelled their orders for F-35s in the wake of a new fighter entering the CF-18 replacement program last minute- the Sienar Flight Systems TIE/IN. Sienar has obtained massive contracts with an unnamed Galactic Empire in a far, far away galaxy, as well as a mining guild located in the same galaxy. Their products are cutting edge, as they also manufacture interceptors, bombers, transports, and even drones.

The RCAF TIE/IN fighters will number 100 units, with orders being delivered in 2023. The TIE/IN is capable of spaceflight and can carry all NATO standard equipment with modifications. The starfighter has two general purpose blasters canons and is outfitted with an l-a2b solar ionization reactor and SFS P-s4 Twin Ion Engines, and a top atmospheric speed of 1,200 kilometers an hour. Sienar has stated in a press release that Canadian models will also be equipped with ejection seats and options for a class one hyperdrive and shields. Sienar has hinted that they will be opening a plant in Canada to support TIE/IN production, but nothing has been confirmed by the Canadian government yet. The TIE/IN is clearly the superior option for F-35 orders, as it doesn't rely on fossil fuels but solar energy, which no doubt helped convince the government that it was a better option... as well as some force choking of the defence minister from an unnamed Sith Lord.

Incom Corporation was also a late entry into the Canadian competion with their T-65 X-Wing fighter, but was ejected out of the competition under mysterious circumstances. The T-65 is currently used by an unnamed military alliance in the same galaxy Sienar is located. Incom claimed that the TIE/IN is an inferior design and that the Canadian government is imperial apologists. They could not be reached by the WOTP team for comment, as they seemed to have blocked our holonet communications.

May the fourth be with you!
